I am really proud to state that Leo metro Cardiaac centre ,established 8 years back as a joined venture of Leo hospital Kalpetta and Metro Med International Cardiaac centre Calicut.
It was started when there was no cardiac Cathlab available in this District Wayanad ,till then the people of Wayanad have to approach either Calicut or Kannur for all cardiac emergencies.
Wayanad is the border district of Tamilnadu and Karnataka is a hill station,3000 feet above the sea level ,a major tourist centre ,marked one of the 50 must visit spot in the world .The Nature has gifted this land with 3 beautiful ghat sections through which all the transport is taking place to the plains and to Bangalore and Ootty which is 280 km and 100 km respectively. Apart from the man made Tea and coffee gardens the natural lush green deciduous forests ,thick vegetations ,bushes,waterfalls,lakes , dams ,mountains, streams ,brooks,rivulets altogether give allurement to the visitors.
The population is 8 lakh out of which one and half lakh are Adivasis .The district represent people from all districts of kerala and all the states in south India ,means all are migrants except Adivasis ,in short the Wayanad gives a cosmopolitan outlook .
Apart from Cardiology consultations Leo metro services extend to ECG ,TMT,2 D ECHO,holter monitoring ,pace maker ,Heart failure management,primary angioplasty ,elective angioplasty etc .
The service of 2 cardiologists available day and night and yet other cardiologist from Metro Med Calicut available on Wednesdays .Another two cardiologists who are specialised in repairing congenital heart diseases visit from Metromed Calicut on 1st and 3rd Saturdays .More over the services of all specialties from Leo hospital which was established 40 years back ,available always .
